My first entry is the film from which the picture at the top of the blog derives. It is an astonishingly beautiful, delicate and thoughtful depiction of childhood played out through the eyes of 8 year old girl during the early days of Franco's dictatorship.
Ana is trying to make sense of the world around her. With no experience to pull upon, her interpretation of events beautifully demonstrates how unblemished innocence is as much a curse as a blessing.
